Pittsburgh Hosts Training for Ministry Conference

Built on land where the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers merge to form the Ohio River, Pittsburgh, with 446 bridges, is known as “The City of Bridges” or “The Bridge Capital.” On Friday and Saturday, November 30–December 1, 2007, Benny Hinn Ministries partners and friends gathered at Pittsburgh’s David L. Lawrence Convention Center for an unforgettable Training for Ministry Conference. With powerful worship and anointed teaching, the conference was a life-changing time of preparation for believers intent on discovering, in a greater way, how to minister more effectively during the last days.

Pittsburgh has been significant in Pastor Benny Hinn’s ministry. He spoke about the significance that Pittsburgh had played in his life more than three decades earlier when he attended a Kathryn Kuhlman service. Especially moved seeing Ruth Fisher and several people who still work with the Kathryn Kuhlman Foundation in attendance at the conference, Pastor Benny took time to recognize them and honor the ministry of Kathryn Kuhlman.

In session 1 of the conference, Pastor Benny presented a scripturally rich teaching on the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance (Galatians 5:22-23). He explained that these nine attributes are one well-rounded cluster of graces, which make up the fruit of the Spirit.

In session 2, Pastor Benny finished his teaching on the fruit of the Spirit, and began teaching on his second topic: dreams and visions. He cited several passages from Scripture where dreams and visions were used by God to bring direction to a life. He also gave examples of how they can be used to warn an individual of some danger or disaster and call them to prayer to avoid tragedy.

In the final session of the conference Pastor Benny finished his teaching on dreams and visions then, after a time of prayer and worship, he presented a dynamic teaching on praying for the salvation of our loved ones. When he asked for a show of hands of those who had unsaved loved ones, almost every hand was raised. He challenged those in attendance to follow the scriptural pattern he presented in his teaching—calling their loved ones by faith to salvation through prayer. His teaching was received with enthusiasm.

As one attendee exclaimed afterward, “It was literally like God was speaking from the throne room to Pastor Benny’s lips, then directly to my heart!”

MIRACLES ABOUND

As his final teaching came to a close, Pastor Benny began leading in songs of worship as a healing anointing descended and miracles began to take place throughout the auditorium.

Many individuals came forward to testify of God’s healing touch upon their lives. Those who came to the platform, testifying of their miracles, included these:

• A woman wept as she explained to Pastor Benny that for some time she had been totally dependent upon her husband. She had been unable to even rise from her bed or from a seated position. Previously, she had to clasp her hands around her husband’s neck, and he would physically lift her from the bed and help her stand to her feet to begin each day. She wept tears of joy as she demonstrated how easily she could move up and down on her own. She pointed out how strong her legs were and explained in detail how God had touched her.

• A woman discarded her walker and began to walk without assistance!

• Many testified of healing from various types of cancer.

• People plagued by deafness, some for many years, could suddenly hear!

• There were significant miracles of healing from arthritis.

There was a gentle, yet powerful anointing for miracles, and many, many people experienced the healing presence and power of the Holy Spirit in a personal way.

ANOINTING FOR MINISTRY

Following the miracle service, Pastor Benny called all the pastors and ministers forward, taking time to pray for them and lay hands on some as he asked God to anoint them afresh with the power of the Holy Spirit.

The crowd was attentive in each of the sessions while Pastor Benny taught on each of the three topics, responding at times with enthusiastic applause and also with reverent silence, reflecting the awe and wonder they were experiencing as God revealed the truth of His Word to their hearts through Pastor Benny’s teaching.

At the close of the service, Pastor Benny expressed his desire to come to Pittsburgh soon for a miracle service, to which people responded enthusiastically!
