News of New Zealand Miracle Crusade Spreads in South Pacific

On June 8-9, Auckland's overflow crowd in the Vector Arena witnessed God's power as never before! Lives were changed. Hearts were touched. Bodies were healed. The reports keep pouring in from people who attended from throughout the South Pacific region.

One of the world's most recently settled major land masses, New Zealand's first settlers were Eastern Polynesians, now called Māoris, who migrated to the area sometime between AD 800 and 1300. Today's population of 4 million, most of whom areof European descent and indigenous MÄoris, have an amazing history and culture.

New Zealand is noted for its geographic isolation, being separated from Australia to the northwest by the Tasman Sea, approximately 2,000 kilometers (1,250 miles) across. Its closest neighbors to the north are New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. It is located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean and is comprised of two large islands (the North Island and the South Island) and numerous smaller islands.

Auckland, located on the North Island with a population of approximately 1.3 million, is by far the largest city in New Zealand. It is also the country's main gateway to great beaches, the Hauraki Gulf, a beautiful harbor, nearby mountain ranges, and volcanic cones.

It is also a place of great spiritual hunger as more and more people from all cultures and ages realize their need for answers in a smaller, more dangerous world. That hunger is growing throughout the region, which placed an even greater emphasis on the crusade, and people from throughout the region and from all backgrounds arrived at Auckland's Vector Arena with great expectancy.

The Greatest Miracle

Capacity crowds came, with thousands standing outside the arena. They were welcomed by a powerful choir who presented several special songs and choral anthems of praise, ushering in an atmosphere of worship.

Early in each service Pastor Benny Hinn presented the plan of salvation and gave an invitation to each person who wanted to surrender his or her life to Jesus Christ to come forward. Multitudes responded in each service and altars were packed with precious souls who received salvation,the greatest miracle.

Healing Testimonies

In each service Pastor Benny also preached faith-filled messages. In the opening service Pastor Benny offered several scriptural references, reminding the people that it is God's desire to heal all.

In the closing service Pastor Benny also cited several Scriptures where miracles happened—blind Bartimaeus, the Syrophenician woman, the woman with the issue of blood, the healing of the leper, and many more.

After each sermon, healings began taking place throughout the Vector Arena crowd. Testimonies were amazing, causing faith to rise throughout the capacity audience:

• Many were healed from arthritis and related disabilities.
  
  
• A young athlete had been unable to run because of a leg injury. He was healed dramatically and could run back and forth across the stage as the crowd exploded in applause.
  
  
• A young mother of three reported her healing from multiple sclerosis. After her healing, she no longer suffered from any of the symptoms she had lived with for years, and she was utterly amazed at what God had done for her. Her husband also appeared speechless at what had happened, overcome with emotion at the miracle he witnessed.
  
  
• A woman who had suffered with cancer and previously been given no hope by her doctor was healed. Suddenly she had no abdominal pain. Strength returned to her quickly, and suddenly she could walk freely, no longer needing her wheelchair.
  
  
• A young woman in her mid-twenties checked herself out of the hospital and came expecting to be healed of her diabetes and related problems that had caused her to be hospitalized. She was not disappointed. She told how all her symptoms vanished when God's healing power touched her during the crusade service.
  
  

A young woman who responded to the call for salvation came forward wearing a neck brace. After the prayer of salvation, Pastor Benny noticed the woman and told her, "God is going to heal you tonight" As the service was coming to a close and Pastor Benny prepared to pray the final prayer for the crowd, the young lady again attracted his attention. Waving her neck brace over her head, she shouted repeatedly, "Pastor Benny, I'm healed! Look, I'm healed" The audience again erupted in praise and thanksgiving.

• Empty wheelchair after empty wheelchair stood as visible reminders of God's healing power!

"What a wonderful crusade," Pastor Benny reported after the final service. "God is doing such a mighty work in New Zealand. I am so encouraged by the outpouring of unity among the churches here. It has been some time since we have held a crusade in this beautiful place, and people came hungry and open to the preaching of the Gospel. They are faced with challenges, certainly, but people from all walks of life are searching for answers to the questions that people everywhere face. I see such great days ahead for the body of Christ through New Zealand, and I'm asking for prayer around the globe that God will continue to touch an entire generation throughout this region"
