Baltimore Hosts Miracle-filled Fire Conference and Miracle Service

Nestled in the heart of downtown near Maryland’s world renowned Inner Harbor on Chesapeake Bay, on May 28–30, 2009, the Baltimore Convention Center hosted the Benny Hinn Ministries Fire Conference and Miracle Service, where crowds enjoyed amazing times of anointed worship, powerful teaching, and mighty miracles!

Featured soloist at the Baltimore event was the gifted Mark Harris, who spent 20 years of ministry with 4Him, a collaboration that resulted in 22 number one hits and eight Dove Awards. As he shared his powerful songwriting and singing talents, it was apparent that Mark’s heart overflowed with both worship and a passion for souls.

The Most Costly Sacrifice
A large, enthusiastic audience from numerous nations greeted Pastor Benny Hinn as he opened the conference on Thursday evening by beginning a teaching series on the blood of Jesus Christ.

“The most costly sacrifice in the Old Testament,” he taught, “is found in 1 Kings 8:62-64, where Solomon offered 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep as a sacrifice. Think about how many priests it took to offer that many animals as a sacrifice. How costly and how much blood was shed in one day! It cost Solomon a lot to sacrifice that many animals, but it cost the Father much more. In Acts 20:28 we are told that you and I were purchased with the blood of the Lamb! The Bible says the saints in heaven talk about it and sing about that costly sacrifice on the cross of Calvary.”

Recalling the Genesis account of Adam and Eve, Pastor Benny traced the trail of blood through the Old Testament that led to the cross, where the blood of Jesus Christ was shed seven times:

1. His head, in the Garden of Gethsemane
2. His beard and face
3. His head, from the crown of thorns
4. His beaten back
5. His hands, nailed to the cross
6. His feet, as the nails were driven in
7. His pierced side

Pastor Benny pointed to the passage in the book of Hebrews:

Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9:11-14)

“In the Old and New Testaments,” he related, “the sinner had to be covered. Jesus Christ shed His blood to cover the sins of the whole world, but only those who accept the blood will be forgiven. Only when we accept the blood sacrifice will we be accepted!”

The Blood Covenant
During the Friday evening service, Pastor Benny did a background study of the blood of Christ, going back to the 33 prophetic lambs in the Old Testament and explaining how God required that a sacrificial lamb to be perfect.

“Through the Old Testament,” he said, “every man of God who built an altar and applied the blood—from Abraham to Isaac, Jacob, Moses, and the rest—all understood the blood covenant.”

Describing in detail the blood covenant and sacrifices, Pastor Benny cited Job 1:9-10 to show the five areas that the blood covers:

1. You
2. Your house and family
3. Your possessions and property
4. Your endeavors
5. Your influence

“When the blood is applied,” he said, “the anointing follows.”

Mighty Miracles Abound
As the crowd swelled to 8,000 for the Saturday night Miracle Service, Pastor Benny preached a faith-filled message encouraging everyone in attendance to believe for miracles. He reminded the audience of the many times from Scripture when all were healed, declaring that the promise belonged to them, as well: “I am the Lord that healeth thee” (Exodus 15:26). As a result, an anointing for miracles swept through the arena. He began to call out many words of knowledge regarding individuals who were being healed from cancer, deafness, back problems, deliverance, and crippling injuries.

The magnitude of miracles and the anointing of the Holy Spirit filled the convention center, including these highlights:

• A young lady named Miranda, a teenager who just graduated from high school, came forward with her aunt Linda to tell about the miracle that happened years ago as a result of watching This Is Your Day! on television. Linda shared that Miranda was born with a hydrocephalic condition, a congenital condition in which an abnormal accumulation of fluid in the cerebral ventricles causes enlargement of the skull and compression of the brain, destroying much of the neural tissue. The doctors warned that the condition would severely affect her developmental and mental abilities. While watching the TV program, the aunt heard Pastor Benny call out a word of knowledge about a woman named Linda whose family had a small baby with the condition that he described in detail. Linda listened in amazement as Pastor Benny prophesied that the Lord was going to heal the child “in every way.” And that was exactly what happened! The aunt brought the teenaged Miranda to the service so both could testify of God's healing touch. The crowd was utterly overwhelmed as they heard how God had completely healed Miranda, who would not only celebrate her high school graduation soon but would also head to college. Far from being mentally challenged, Miranda is a beautiful, intelligent young woman whose face beamed with joy at what God had done in her life!
  
• There were many healings from various forms of cancer, reports that brought bursts of hallelujahs and applause.
  
• One woman came forward to explain that she had been unable to walk for some time. During the service, she felt the healing anointing flow through her body. She rose from her wheelchair, and by the time she reached the stage, she ascended the stairs unassisted, then proceeded to walk back and forth across the platform praising God for touching her. Again, as with each of the testimonies, the audience exploded in applause, both rejoicing with the woman and praising God for the mighty miracle!

The highlight of the service happened as Pastor Benny presented the plan of salvation in a step-by-step approach from Scripture; then he invited all who wanted to receive Jesus Christ as Savior to come forward and pray the prayer of salvation with him. People of all ages streamed forward in response to the call to receive “the greatest miracle of all!”

Mighty Move of God
“What a powerful time we had in Baltimore!” Pastor Benny reported at the conclusion of the Fire Crusade and Miracle Services. “God did something truly wonderful and historic. We continue to see a hunger for teaching and equipping for ministry among people of God. What a blessing and privilege it is to see this powerful harvest as so many people came to receive Jesus Christ as Savior! And I pray that God’s life-changing and miracle-working power will continue to touch the people throughout this area for Jesus Christ in coming days!”
