France’s “City of Light” Sees Powerful Outpouring

 

Altar Calls Highlight Paris Miracle Crusade
Despite a national railway strike, the picture-perfect Parc des Expositions et Centre de Conventions Villepinte in Paris swirled with excitement as the November 16–17, 2007, Holy Spirit Miracle Crusade began. Before the final service, a mighty move of God swept through the Exposition Centre. Altar calls were the highlight of each service. People literally ran from their seats to accept Jesus Christ as Savior.

Paris has many nicknames. Most famous is “The City of Light” (La Ville-lumière), a name it owes both to its fame as a center of education and ideas and its early adoption of street lighting. As the time for the Benny Hinn Ministries Holy Spirit Miracle Crusade approached, believers throughout the region were praying for an entirely new meaning of “The City of Light,” as faith grew for a widespread outpouring of Jesus Christ, the Light of the world!

The Crusade Begins Dramatically
Despite the rail strike, which began with a walkout on Wednesday, the crusade was well attended in each of three services, with attendees from all over France as well as nations from around the world. Rail transportation is a mainstay, so people made great sacrifices and spent much time in arriving at the venue by alternate transportation means.

Countries represented in the audience included all parts of France, England, The Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, United States, Egypt, Tunisia, Congo, Denmark, Uganda, India, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Malta, Cyprus, Greece, Brazil, Finland, Germany, and more.

The response to the salvation call, as Pastor Benny presented the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, was a highlight in each service. As Pastor Benny presented a clear-cut message of salvation and extended the invitation to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, people of all ages ran to the front of the auditorium from all over the building, jamming the front of the auditorium and the aisles. As they repeated the prayer for salvation, many wept tears of repentance, while others prayed quietly, repeating every word as they surrendered to Jesus Christ. The response each evening was amazing.

One Message, Many Translations
As Pastor Benny began to call out words of knowledge and miracles that were happening, 30 or more translators who spoke fluent French assembled at each side of the platform, along with a physician on each side of the stage. With the help of 15 interpreters on each side of the stage, the Benny Hinn Ministries staff began to interview those who came forward to testify of God’s healing touch upon their lives. With the capable assistance of local translators, each person was interviewed before coming to the platform.

In each country where another language is the primary language, Pastor Benny communicates with the people through an interpreter. In addition, the ministry staff members, who assist in interviewing those coming forward, rely on local translators to help bridge the communication gap before those healed are brought to the platform.

Mighty Miracles
Pastor Benny preached a message focusing on how Jesus healed all. Using several scripture references, he underscored over and over how it is the will of God to heal all. Jesus was the will of God in action, and on numerous occasions He healed all.

In each of the services, God moved mightily throughout the Exposition Centre. Reported miracles included these:

• A 59-year-old woman who had suffered with scoliosis for years was totally healed of her pain related to the condition. She said she felt her spine shift into position, almost as if hands were aligning her spine. She wept as she said all her pain had vanished.

• A little girl who had suffered with blurred vision came to the platform with her family to share the account of how her eyes had cleared. Her entire family was deeply and visibly moved by what God had done for the little girl.

• A cancerous tumor in a woman’s breast disappeared.

• Another young woman came to tell of how she had been healed of an ovarian tumor and how all the pain associated with it was gone.

• There were dramatic healings from arthritis.

• A woman who had come in a wheelchair, unable to walk for some time, came to testify of God’s healing touch.

• A man who had suffered with heart disease for 8 years sensed God’s healing touch. He had suffered with constant pain, and the heart condition had affected his breathing significantly. Suddenly, all the pain was gone and he could breathe without difficulty.

• Many healings from asthma were represented in many different age groups.

• A woman, who had extreme difficulty walking and could barely stand prior to the service, walked up the steps to the platform to testify of how God had touched and strengthened her. She was thrilled that she could walk again!

• A man who had suffered with meningitis was healed. A number of complications and symptoms had affected the joints in one arm and leg, limiting his movement. When God touched him, all the pain was gone, and he could walk and move without pain.

• A man who had been more than 50 percent deaf in one ear was touched by God’s healing power. His ear popped and he could hear completely from that ear.

• A few people were healed of spinal- and back-related injuries.

• A lady with a severe back problem due to deteriorating discs came wearing a back brace to help ease her pain as she walked. After God touched her back, she removed the brace and walked with no pain and no limp.

A Challenge to Pray
Paris, located on the River Seine in northern France, sits at the heart of the Île-de-France region (Région parisienne). With over 30 million foreign visitors each year, Paris is the most popular tourist destination in the world as people come from around the world to see such picturesque attractions as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame cathedral, the Champs-Elysées, the Arc de Triomphe, the Basilica of the Sacré Cœur, the Invalides, the Panthéon, the Grande Arche and the Opéra Garnier among its many attractions, along with world famous institutions such as the Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay and the Musée National d'Art Moderne, and popular parks like Disneyland Resort Paris.

With these iconic landmarks as a background, the Parc des Expositions et Centre de Conventions Villepinte was the perfect location for the miracle crusade. The Exposition Centre is the leading French venue for international trade fairs and the one of Europe’s largest exhibition complexes.
