Will Your Children Change the World?

Kids Change WorldBy Julie Ferwerda

Did you know that most movements of God that historians call “great awakenings” have started with young people?1 Fathers of great faith movements and revivals, such as Jonathan Edwards, John Wesley, William Carey, George Whitefield, George Muller, as well as modern evangelists such as Bill Bright, Billy Graham, Luis Palau, and many others were mere youths when God called them to join a vision for great change.

Throughout the Bible, we’ve seen how God frequently used young people to enact serious changes on cultures, nations, or even the world at large.

In fact, when God selects His special agents, He doesn’t ever measure by appearance, age, experience or talent; He measures by heart. Joseph, Samuel, David, Esther, Jeremiah, Daniel, Mary---all were but inexperienced youngsters with few human possibilities looming on the horizon when God called them out for a world-impacting Mission Impossible. None of these young people had to wait to grow up to make a difference for their generation or their world.

The Names & Character Of God

Take time with your family today to discuss the names of God. Explain to them that God is their all-in-all and listen to them share their hearts about their heavenly Father.

As we read the Bible, we see many names that refer to God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

God, the great “I AM” (Exodus 3:14), is referred to by many different names throughout the Bible, each with a specific meaning and application.

For example, they range from “Almighty God” (Genesis 17:1) to “the most High” (Psalm 91:9) to “The Lord of hosts” and “the Holy One of Israel” (Isaiah 54:5) to YAH or YAHWEH (Psalm 68:4).

Your Father's Love

Little Boy PicBy Benny Hinn

Seated with my son, Joshua, on my lap, I relaxed for a few moments, musing over the activities of the day… I glanced down at Joshua and noticed that he was fast asleep in my arms. He looked so peaceful lying there…

In that tender moment, as I help my sleeping child in my arms, the love that I felt as a father was so rich. But as the Lord spoke to my heart, comparing the love I felt toward Joshua with the greatness of His tender lover for me, I understood how weak and frail my love for my son was when compared to God the Father’s infinite love for us His children.

As a father, there is nothing that I would not do for my children…but my love for them, along with my ability and willingness to lovingly provide and care for them, cannot begin to compare with the wonderful loyal love that our heavenly Father has for you and me – a love that has never been more in evidence than it was on Calvary.
