Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. (Titus 2:13-14)

And so God has taken you out of the hand of the enemy: "And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible" (Jeremiah 15:21).

Remember that Satan did not fall down. He fell up. And most people don't fall down. Initially, they fall up.

Do you remember what the serpent said to Eve? Was it "You see that tree? If you eat it, you will commit sin?" No, he didn't say that. He said, "Doesn't it look goof for food? Isn't it pleasant to the eyes? Won't it make you wise?" Remember, it was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. You are often tempted with the good.

What did Lucifer say? Did he say to himself, "I will go straight down into hell?" Of course not! He desired to go up, not down.

So in pride he said, "I will ascend into heaven" (Isa. 14:13).
